6th round of world championship was held in Agueda, Portugal. Weather was really nice and sunny the whole weekend. Track in Agueda really suits me it is hard pack with sand on top.

The weekend started really good for me. Saturday free practice and pre-qualifying practice I got 11th best laptimes. Felt good and strong going to the qualifying race, but the race didn’t start as good as I was hoping, got pretty bad start, was around 21st coming back from the first lap, but luckily managed to make some passes and finished the quali heat 14th. Was quite happy with the result.

Sunday, started also positively for me, I was 6th in warm-up. First race didn’t get good start was 18th after first lap, but then started to work my way up, made passes and was able to finish 11th. In the end of the race I got good pace and laptimes that was also very positive for me! The least happy I was with second start of the day, I got the best start of the weekend but didn’t manage to make that much passes and in the end finished 14th. GP overall I was 12th another best result this year.

I feel quite happy with my result this weekend, it is positive that it gets better and better with every GP.

Now I have 5 weeks off from GP’s as I don’t go to Brazil. But still have some races coming up, this week Dutch championship and ADAC, then I can get to go home to Finland after three months and have a supercross race there. Also thinking some more races to go to before next GP which is held in Ernee, France.

Stay tuned!

Before the 5th round in Sevlievo, Bulgaria I had a busy week. After I got back from Italy I went couple of times riding on hard pack to get the feeling for Sevlievo. I had tough training and the feeling was good for the weekend .

In Sevlievo the track is on the hillside with many jumps and whoops so it’s perfect track for the GP’s.
Normally the track is very rutted and ripped well as this year it was a bit harder and faster than previous years.

Saturday didn’t go perfectly which has been my problem all year. Anyway I got 17th gate pick for the Sunday’s race.
Sunday morning organizers watered the track to avoid the dust what we had on Saturday afternoon, but for the race the track was perfect!
In the first race the start was bad, after lap one I was outside top20. After a few laps I got a bit of armpump. But in the middle of the race my arms were getting better, got good pace, managed to pass and finished 13th .

Second race the start was also bad but I managed to make faster passes. In the last lap I was battling for 11th position but couldn’t make the pass and our gap in the finish was 0.4 seconds. So this time 12th for me from the 2nd heat.
I felt my riding got better again this GP and I was fighting but I need to make a bit better starts to break into the top 10.
Now I have two weeks time to prepare myself for Portugal and make an improvement also there!

The weekend off of the GP’s I will race in Dutch Championship in Gemert this coming Sunday.
By the way, the weather is nice in Belgium so it’s been really cool to cycle outside!

Stay tuned!

The 4th round of World Championship was held in beautiful Trentino region in Arco di Trento city, northeast of Italy. All weekend the weather was very nice, sunny and warm.

I had good two training weeks after Valkenswaard. I rode hard pack alot and got better confidence.
I went to Italy already on Monday and did some training with my race bike, so I felt much better already in first free practice.
I didn’t do so well in pre-qualifying as in Valkenswaard but my riding was still much better.
In the qualifying race I struggled with armpump and finished 16th.

On Sunday I had good pace going on in the warm up as I was 9th.
First race I started the race around 12th position and I gained few positions during the race and in the end I manage to finish 11th with some armpump during the race.

The second race I got quite good shot over the gate but I hit someones rear wheel in the second corner and hit my head quite hard. I felt really dizzy when I got up but still wanted to continued the race. After the first lap I continued with full speed as I was already 20seconds behind the second last guy.
Durning the race I had clutch problem, still I managed to gain positions and finished the race 17th.

I was happy with this weekend as this was so far my best GP of the year, also preparation for this race was successful. So I keep working hard and I try to make more improvement for next weekends GP in Bulgaria.

The 3rd round of World Championship was held in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands.

Weather was very cold this year and track was harder than usually. In the morning track was still frozen but during the day it got softer and deeper.

My weekend didn’t start well on Sunday, as I struggled in pre-qualifying practice and got bad gate pick for qualifying race. The race was better and I finished 18th and I got better gate position for Monday races.

On Monday I got very bad starts. I was good over the gate but few meters later I was left behind the competitors.
In the first race I was around 27th after first lap and slowly started picking up positions and finished the race on 19th position.

The second race was almost like copy of the first one, after the first lap I was over 20 and started to pick up some positions and finished the race on 14th position.

These first rounds haven’t been what I and the team have expected. Now I keep thinking and working on some things what will make my results better for next races!

Now we will have a weekend off and then we continue in Italy for the 4th round of the Championship.

Estonian supercross series was ridden the first time this year, and the third and final round was raced on Wednesday in Kuimetsa track. Harri won the opening round but he had to pass the second round so he didn’t have much chance in the points. Harri placed second in Kuimetsa when MX1 class rider Tanel Leok took the victory.

- We had a really good fight today with Tanel. He won the qualifying and I took the second place. I didn’t get a good start in the final and I started the heat in sixth place. I quickly made my way to fourth place and in two laps I was second. At that point Tanel had some three seconds advantage against me in the lead. I caught him but I never had a real chance to try to pass him, Harri told.

- Tanel is in eight place in the world championships and he is a really good rider. A few years ago I didn’t even see him in the races, so this showed that I have improved my speed during the past years.

Harri took fourth place in the series points. Estonian Priit Rätsep won the title.

Monster Energy Yamaha’s Harri Kullas will miss his first FIM Motocross World Championship races in almost two years of competition after an accident competing in the Finnish National MX series last weekend left the youngster with two broken bones in his left hand.

The YZ250F racer is currently eighth in the standings after a consistent season in which he has taken points in every moto of the twenty-six run so far. The accident happened when another rider collided with the determined Finn. X-rays have been sent to eminent Belgian surgeon Dr Claes for assessment tomorrow (Thursday) but an expected recovery period of five weeks has been provisionally ascribed. It means Kullas will miss this weekend’s Grand Prix of Europe at Gaildorf in Germany and then the fifteenth and final meeting next week at Fermo in Italy. Sadly for his country, the nineteen year old will also have to withdraw from the Motocross of Nations in France on September 18th.

13th round held in Matterley Basin, Winchester where has been Motocross of Nations on 2006.
Track is very nice on the side of hill and has a lot of big jumps with the ground of grass.
It rained little bit on Saturday but track were perfect conditions with many deep ruts.

Harri struggled with the bike settings in the morning but made 11th in the qualifying race.

- I made few passes and had some riders in front of me but I got arm pump after half of the race so I finished 11th.

Sunday it was pretty much sunny day whole day and track stayed very nice.

- I didn’t make good starts today, and I was around 20th in both starts. I had to come
behind and couldn’t finish better than 13th in the first race.

- In the second race I had some problems with the bike and couldn’t go to the sighting lap. So I start bad and again made few passes and on the half point of the way I made few mistakes and lost some time and then had gap in front and back, so I couldn’t find the speed to catch guys in front of me and I finished 10th in the second race.

Overall Harri still keeps the 8 position in the standings. Championship continues next
time in Gaildorf, Germany.

Like last year it rained also this year in Loket. This time we had just little bit less and
track dried fast.
Rain started Friday little bit and next time Saturday midday. Also before the first race on Sunday.

Harri had technical problems all the weekend and couldn’t find the right setting for the hard pack track in Loket.
Saturday Harri finished 16th in the qualifying race.

Sunday track was dry in the morning but then start to rain little bit. First race it
was mud but for the second race it was dry again and track was in perfect conditions.

- The first race start was bad and I had to came behind again. Track was quite one line and it was hard to pass. I came already to 13th and saw some guys in front of me. I put everything I got in the last laps, and caught 3 riders in front of me but didn’t have time to make the pass.

- The second start was great! I was second in the first corner but in the second corner I went first. Then just those first guys were so fast and I couldn’t keep the speed on that
circuit. I finished in the end 10th, which I wasn’t quite happy and also the weekend was very difficult. I’m looking forward to the GP of England to make some good results!

Harri continues 8th in the standings while he has one weekend off to prepare
for the next GP in England on 20th and 21st of August.

10th round was held in Latvia, Kegums. Latvia is just next country from Estonia so
Harri had like a home GP there.
A lot of fans were cheering from Estonia and Finland also.

Track used to be softer many years ago but now they have moved hard pack to the track and it has become harder.

Harri had good speed over the weekend.
Saturday he made 3rd best time in first practice and 9th in the pre-qualifying. In the qualifying race Harri crashed in the first corner and was one of the last riders who started the
race. Harri rode good and came 13th in the end.

- Track is quite hard but still I liked it. I had good speed unfortunately
I crashed in the first corner. Still the gate pick was good for Sunday, Harri explained after the crash.

On Sunday warm up Harri had fifth time and had good feeling for the day. He made
two solid starts, first race he started around 10th and in the second one around 7th.

- In the first race I started 10th but moved fast to 7th position. I hold that position almost to the end then Osborne passed me and in the last lap Paulin passed me too, so I finish the race 9th.

- In the second race happened a lot. I started 7th and I had good speed in the beginning. At
first I tried to pass Searle but after few laps he was gone. At the end I crashed then two riders passed me luckily I was able to pass them back. I finished the race in 6th position which gave me 6th overall. I was really happy with the weekend and the results, I’m looking forward to the next round in Lommel.

Harri did great race on the weekend and he still keeps 8th position in the overall standings.

Round 9 held on hard pack Teutschenthal’s track in Germany. Track had a lot of
ruts and it was technical. Harri liked the track in the beginning on Saturday.

It rained little bit on the nights but track was perfect conditions while they prepared the track
little bit during the day.

- I liked the track in the beginning, and after raining it was perfect. There were many
ruts and jumps, so it was very nice track, Harri said about the track.

Harri scored 13th and 11th positions which gave him 10th overall in the GP.

- In the first race I wasn’t just there in the first laps and lost many positions. Then I came
back to 13th and saw some riders in front of me but couldn’t catch them in the end, Harri was disappointed after first race.
- After the start of the second race, I was second! But they watered the track and I took too careful the first laps and again I lost position. I found myself 10th in the beginning.
Then I just rode my pace there and just didn’t have the speed to compete with top ten positions. But I got some points here, Teutschenthal isn’t just the best track for me also so leaving here with the 8th overall, I’m satisfied, Harri explained after the race.

Season will continue in a week time in Kegums, Latvia.
