Monster Energy Yamaha’s Harri Kullas will miss his first FIM Motocross World Championship races in almost two years of competition after an accident competing in the Finnish National MX series last weekend left the youngster with two broken bones in his left hand.
The YZ250F racer is currently eighth in the standings after a consistent season in which he has taken points in every moto of the twenty-six run so far. The accident happened when another rider collided with the determined Finn. X-rays have been sent to eminent Belgian surgeon Dr Claes for assessment tomorrow (Thursday) but an expected recovery period of five weeks has been provisionally ascribed. It means Kullas will miss this weekend’s Grand Prix of Europe at Gaildorf in Germany and then the fifteenth and final meeting next week at Fermo in Italy. Sadly for his country, the nineteen year old will also have to withdraw from the Motocross of Nations in France on September 18th.
