Portugal’s track was very slippery and tricky. Many riders crashed in the weekend and so did Harri.
Harri crashed both races and made his race more difficult.
- Saturday I felt good, I liked the track and feeling was good with the track. But then sunday started the problems.
In warm up I had little problem with the bike and in the races I made two mistakes.
Harri picked the gate 10th position on Sunday.
He didn’t take good starts all the weekend and he had to work more harder in the races.
- First race I got bad start. I was around 15th. I tried to make some passes in the first lap, but after half lap I went inside corner and hit neutral and crashed. I was almost last and I just gave everything I had. I came up quite fast but felt like the race was too short. I finished 10th which wasn’t bad, but still disappointed for that.
Harri was good position in the second race but unfortunately had again mistake. This time he finished ninth.
- I wasn’t good over the gate, but after corner I made good line and I was inside top 10 in the second start. After few laps I was 7th position when I jumped too far triple jump and
hit the berm in the corner and crashed. I dropped few position again. During the race I came back ninth and saw two riders in front of me. I could close the gap, but never enough to make the pass.
Harri finished 10th overall with 10 and 9 finshes and he was disappointed for that because he knew to do better, but he kept 8th position overall standings.
Anyway, next race will be in Spain, complete new track for World Championship, La
BaƱeza on 19th of June.
